With many years’ development, Anhui has set up an industrial system which covers extensive fields and enjoys strong supporting power. There are the world's top 500 enterprises in different industries, most of which have good industrial supporting foundations in Anhui. There are such predominant industries as:
■Automobile Industry
In recent years, Anhui has made efforts to develop manufacturing of automobile and spare parts and has established pillar enterprises represented by Chery, JAC, Xingma and Changhe. Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. has set up a complete development system concerning finished automobile, power assembly, design, experiment and trial production of key spare parts. Chery is a brand of sedans with proprietary intellectual property rights, whose export ranks the first in China. Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (JAC) is one of the state key automobile groups. The technology, the output and the sale of JAC business cars, light trucks, heavy trucks, passenger cars and chassis of passenger cars rank top in the domestic market.
■Equipment Manufacturing Industry
Equipment manufacturing industry is the key pillar industry in Anhui. Many products such as forklifts, excavators, high speed hydraulic presses, large electric diving pumps, piston rings and filters have met the domestic advanced standard, with the outputs ranking high in the state. Anhui Forklift Group ranks World Top 10, whose output, export and economic benefit all ranking the first in China. Hefei Forge Press Co., Ltd. produces various large, digital, high-speed, special and complete multi-station and precision presses. It is the first enterprise to export complete sets of equipment to USA, Germany and Japan. Hitachi Construction Machinery (China) Co., Ltd. produces specialized hydraulic excavators with world advanced level, whose market share ranks top in China.
■Fine Material Industry
Anhui’s fine material industry is mainly represented by steel, metal and construction materials. Masteel Group is the largest industrial enterprise in Anhui, with 10 million tons of supporting production capacity. Tongling Nonferrous Metals (Group) Corporation is one of the earliest copper industrial bases in new China. The output of electrolytic copper ranks the first in the state. Conch Group is one of the largest construction material enterprise groups in China, whose technical skill is earlier advanced than other similar production lines for 5 to 10 years. The output of cement ranks the first in China and the third in the world. The output of plastic materials ranks the first in China.
■Electronic Information Industry
Electronic information industry is the key new industry in Anhui. Its main products include radio detector equipment for military and civilian use, mini-computers, TV sets, electronic instruments, polypropylene electronic engineering film, semiconductor discrete devices, electronic components, motors for tape recorders and magnetic materials. There are a lot of key industries with a certain scale and features, for example, Hefei Haier, Anhui Konka, Wuhu Star Computer, Anhui Tongfeng Electronics, Tongling Sanjia Electronics and iFLYTEK. Tongfeng Electronics Co., Ltd. (Group) has become the state largest production base for capacitor film and film capacitor. The iFLYTEK synthesis technology of Chinese language takes the lead in the world. There are more than 50 household appliances enterprises and supporting enterprises, which center on Hefei, Wuhu and Chuzhou and are represented by Meiling, Royalstar and BSH. In 2007, Anhui totally produced 9.01 million household refrigerators, 5.68 million household washing machines, 6.08 million room air-conditioners, 3.61 million color TV sets, which rank top in China.

■Processing Industry of Agricultural Products
The processing industry of agricultural products in Anhui has established a pattern which is mainly made up of tobacco, textile, liquor, grain, oil, fruit, vegetable, meat and water products. The sales income of Anhui Industrial Company of Chinese Tobacco Co., Ltd. in 2007 was 17.7 billion yuan; the output was 2.26 million cartons. Anhui Huamao Group ranks the top 20 in the state textile industry. Anhui enjoys a long history of liquor production, with distinctive geographical and brand advantages. There are a lot of famous brands such as Gujing, Kouzi and Gaolu. BBCA Group is the state largest refined and deep processing industry. The output of citric acid and salt products ranks the first in the world. The export of fine chemical products ranks the first in China for many years.
■Energy and Coalification Industry
Anhui enjoys abundant coal and coalbed methane resources. The coal reserves in Anhui are 50 billion tons. The preliminary positive reserves of coalbed methane are 1000 billion cubic meters. Anhui is the key energy base in East China. In 2007, the output of raw coal was 93.7 million tons. There are a lot of large energy enterprises, such as Huainan Mining Industry, Huaibei Mining Industry, Wanbei Coal and Electric Power Company, Xinji Coal Mine and Wanneng. Huainan Chemical Group is the state top 100 chemical enterprises, whose gasification technology has reached the advanced level at home and abroad.
